WOW! After attending the PACIFICA National Conference (read more about it here: Foundations to Future) where I was truly inspired by Pasifika women of ALL ages and then a few days ago having attended the live interview with Dr Ben Carson (read more about it here: Dr Ben Carson) in which he proudly honoured his Mother, Sonya Carson; I must say that I am left in awe of the WOMEN who have played a significant role in building a foundation for their young children which has enabled them to become people of positive influence.
The women from the PACIFICA National Conference and also Dr Ben Carson’s Mother, Sonya Carson, reminded me of Dr Maya Angelou’s poem Phenomenal Woman. Dr Maya Angelou is a poet who inspires me greatly! She has been hailed as the “Global Renaissance Woman” as explained in my blog post back in January 2012 in which you can read here: Maya Angelou – Global Renaissance Woman. In her autobiographies, she retells the struggles and obstacles that she had encountered but overcame in her life. Her poem Phenomenal Woman is a beautiful reflection of the resilience that she has. This poem is indeed a timeless piece because I believe that every woman can relate to it.
I dedicate this piece to ALL THE PHENOMENAL WOMEN who are reading this! 🙂 And to the men who may be reading this post, this is also dedicated to the Phenomenal Women who are in your lives.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY! (Find out more info here: Celebrating Women)
Many blessings & love xox
