Creativetalanoa.com is a New Zealand based blog which was created on January 7th 2012 by Maryanne Pale. The idea to start this blog stemmed from her interest in poetry, prose, spoken word and all things creative. On this blog, you will find insights into Maryanne’s work, her engagement with various communities and her reflections throughout her journey. In addition, this blog celebrates the stories and inspiration from lived experiences of special guests whom Maryanne has engaged with in the form talanoa.
Talanoa is a pan-Pacific term and is used widely across different disciplines. The term talanoa in the Tongan language denotes as “to talk (in an informal way), to tell stories or relate experiences, to talk about, or to say” (Churchward, 1959, p447). The talanoa with the special guests who are featured on this blog add further insights into the art of creativity across various landscapes.
